A Smile Upon Waking

I woke up with a smile on my face this morning.  For the first time all week, I am not aware of having been awake during the night (a usual occurrence).  Sore though I am, my body had a full 8 hours of rest and repair time from all this week's hard work.  I feel amazing. Imperfect, yet amazing.

As I lay there before rising, I was thinking about the lectures of the brilliant Jordan B. Peterson who often refers to cleaning one's room.  He says before you go out to change the world, try starting with cleaning up your room. As I consider how I can apply that statement to this journey I've begun it seems a solid analogy.

The human form is such perfection.  It's amazing that we can move our souls about through life on this earth in such an incredible marvel of divine engineering.  It makes sense to me, like your room, every inch needs to be attended to from time to time - every nook and cranny considered and taken care of.  In order to be the best self from where you can step out to serve others and the world, first you need to look inwardly.  I talk often to singers about the absolute necessity to learn to organize themselves in a way that allows optimal functionalty of all the muscular systems of the body to their specific designed purposes.  Compensatory muscular actions are what starts to wreak havoc (I'm a testament to that for sure!) I woke up this morning with an even clearer understanding of how truly the inner me and the muscle and bones me need equal attention to achieve this goal.

Before I can understand the universe, I need to clean my room.

Looking forward to my first BMD session this morning!
