Human Garage rents gym space a few miles from their home on Washington Blvd. I met Ryan there this morning for my bio-mechanical assessment. He took me through some initial drills to assess my individual needs. My goal is to get back to Pure Barre as soon as possible!! I understand that there is no sense in diving back 100% in if I am sending mixed messages to my body. Ryan suggested just one class per week for a while - and only if I do my homework before each class. (I can already feel the amount of soreness I'm going to feel with one class per week.......)
I had so much fun trying out these different mechanical and neurological tests, surprised by some deficiencies and also surprised at how I am efficient in some things I didn't expect.
Sorry I am unable to share the two short videos (well, at least until I figure out how to reduce the files) which show me running through my homework assignment for the next several weeks! Ryan gave me a few proprioceptive and neurological exercises and a few strengthening/realigning ones that I do multiple times per day until I come back out here for Round Two in late February.
So much work to do! Stay tuned. I'll be back posting near the end of February.
